It seems like with virtually all American holidays, there is an actual reason why it is celebrated and then there’s the commercial holiday version. Case in point: the Easter bunny. I don’t know who created this little furry guy (I’m sure I could do some research and find out, but I honestly don’t care that much), but he is very present in our Easter celebrations, mine included.
I’d venture to say that nearly all of us participate in Easter egg hunts for our children (I just finished stuffing a ton of plastic eggs with candy…and may have sampled some…) but as a Christian parent, I want my kids to know the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate it: that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, rose again and ascended into heaven, where He now watches over us at the right hand of God. (Luke 23-24)
With those thoughts in mind, I’ve scoured the Internet and Pinterest and have come up with 20 activities to help teach or remind your children the Christ-centered version of Easter. I plan to do some of these with my kids this week, and I hope it helps you too! 🙂
I’ve divided the activities into 4 categories: Crafts/Hands On Activities, Coloring Pages, Other Printable Activities, Edible Goodies.
