I’m Lauren Bookout and am an Oklahoma girl living in Louisiana with my amazing husband Travis. We’ve been married since 2008 and he is currently the minister for the Jackson Street church of Christ in Monroe, LA. My Masters is in school counseling and I love using that educational background to work with Christian girls who are trying to find their place in the world and, more importantly, in God’s church. When I’m not doing that, I stay busy as a photographer, speaker, and with general preacher’s wifery (and occasional making up new words to suit my mood).
I’ve been in love with words and books for as long as I remember and few things thrill me as much as discussing that love with others. I love my family, Oklahoma and Texas, being outdoors, wanderlusting, college football, and whatever whimsy has most recently struck my fancy, but I try to live my life serving God in all that I do. I fail pretty regularly, but keep trying.
Life is hard and navigating the world we live in can be tough. I 100% believe “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3), but also that it’s sometimes hard to know exactly how to apply that. My hope and prayer is to find a way closer to Him, together.
Always in Him.
